Superior Buildings and Carports, Inc.

Aluminum building photo comparisons.

In the top 2 photos you can see the solid pressure treated 4 x 6 skids we use.  You can also see the painted pressure treated base boards.

If you look at the next bottom 2  photos you will see competitor skid types including 2 x 6s nailed together to make a 4 x 6.
Also other companies use a plain old 4 x 4 skid,  <-Talk about weaker !!

2 x 4 floor joist.  We do not use 2 x 4 floor joist in our metal buildings only 2 x 6s.  Which you can see in the top right photo on this page.
Our 2 x 6 floor joist are 16" on center not 20" on center
The outside baseboards are pressure treated and painted.

In the picture above you can see 2 x 4 roof joist in a 12' wide leading competitor building.  We use 2 x 6 s.  Look at the below photo

In the above two pictures you can see a basic press test.  The left photo is a competitor building.  The right photo is our building.

In the next pictures you will see pictures of the bottom plates.  This is the wood board under the wall studs.  Some companies don't use them, some just use a 1 x 4 and we use 2 x 4s.  Which do you think is better and which do you think is easier to nail paneling or peg board to.

No bottom plate and a 1 x 4 bottom plate (above).

Other companies doors. The first is made of untreated 2 x 4 s that will leak and rot later.  The second is cheap and made with the buildings siding and metal tubing.

We use nice doors made of aluminum which uses a standard door knob.  We don't use t - handles or doors made with the buildings metal siding.  If the door is made out of siding how many problems can that cause in 5 or 10 years if the door gets damage.  Imagine if the siding color or style changes.  You can by the doors we use from places other than us.  Ask the other guys, they charge an up grade fee for our door type.  And don't forget if a single door is too wide over time you can have problems with closing due to sagging.  We will use a double door for anything over 48', even though wider single doors are available.
